Living Out the Gospel Together

While the Bible’s message about Jesus is heard in a variety of other contexts, the preaching within the corporate worship service each Lord’s Day is central, because this is when the whole body together hears the same message from a man called to shepherd the church.

Fellowship in BFGs
BFGs assist our worship services by providing life-on-life fellowship. “Fellowship” means to share a common life with other believers. This common life is defined by the gospel of Jesus Christ. It involves accountability and care. Accountability happens when members of BFGs seek to challenge and inspire one another to change in response to the preached message of the gospel. This occurs when members get specific about sin and their need for change. Care involves praying for one another, serving one another, and loving one another. Back.
Mission in BFGs
Our BFGs also play a strategic role in Ashland’s mission to spread a passion for the supremacy of Christ to the whole world. As BFG members grow into Christ and deeper into one another’s lives, they will long to share the love and the joy of the gospel with others. Evangelism and discipleship will be the natural outcome of such fellowship. If our BFGs are successful in providing accountable fellowship for living out the gospel together, they will likely grow. We pray that they will consistently produce new BFGs as well as leaders who are equipped to start new BFGs. Back.
